Goorts, Peter

Passed away at the CHUS Fleurimont, following a brief illness, on Saturday January 2nd, 2010, Mr. Peter Goorts at the age of 86. Loving husband of 57 years to Anna Verbeek, and dear father of Peter (Cindy), the late John, Henry (Lisa), and Joanne (Brian Taber). Dear opa to Jeremy (Maryse), Jason, Sarah (Corey), Chris, Marisa, Andrew and Brandon. Peter also leaves to mourn his 4 great grandchildren, his brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law in Canada and Holland, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Grenier, Raoul

Passed away at the C.S.S.S. Memphremagog on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at the age of 72. Cherished husband of Lisette Gagnon and loving father of: Benoit (Nathalie Grenier), René, France (Jean Claude Boutin) and Sylvain; Dear grandfather of: Kristina, Samuel, and Gabrielle Viens; Dear brother of: the late Jean Paul (Iréne Isabelle), Ronald (Bernadette Duquette), Aliette (Réal Vanasse) , Juliette (the late Wallace Bronson), Armel (Ruby Mosher), the late Clement (Danielle Poulin) and Huguette (Ole Wanowski); Raoul will also be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Laurette Provençal (the late Fernand Gagnon), along with his brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Gibbs Piercy, Doris

Passed away peacefully at the C.S.S.S. Memphremagog, on Monday, June 22, 2009 , at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Piercy and previous wife of Theodore Peters. Cherished mother of: the late Ellen, William, (Karen), Charity (Serge), Cynthia (Yvon),Rose (Daniel), Lori Ann ( Stephan) and John. Doris will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as her sister Ellen (Amy), brother Philip (Cindy), nieces, other relatives and friends. There will be visitation at Christ Church in Stanstead on Saturday, June 27, 2009 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Barbara Wintle officiating.The family would like to thank the staff at Place Sanborn and the Magog Hospital for their special care and thoughtfulness in their mother’s time of need. Passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving daughter and son-in-law at the C.S.S.S. Memphremagog, on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 , in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Wilfred Massé and the late Rolland Labelle. Cherished mother of: Rolland, Émeril ( Raymonde), Laurent and Lise ( Paul Goudreau). Cherished grandmother of the late Suzanne and the late Daniel Massé, Pierre Massé . Michel, Natalie, Hélène, Martin, Sebastien, Stephane, Éric, and Gilles. Eva will also be sadly missed by many great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Carolyn Goyette of Vancouver, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. There will be visitation in the presence of her ashes at the Cass funeral Home 545 Dufferin, Stanstead 819-876-5213 /http://www.casshomes.ca on Friday, June 19, 2009, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., followed by the service in the funeral home. Gaulin, Wendell Suddenly at his home, Bury, QC, on Sunday April 12, 2009 at the age of 70 years, with his wife at his side. Wendell George Gaulin beloved husband of Mary Hyatt and dear father of Nancy (Percy), Gary (Sharon), the late Douglas, Marilyn (Jeffrey), Daphne (Rick), George (Donna), Wenda (Will), Tina (Duane) and Allan (Charlena). Wendell was the cherished grandfather of 14 and great grandfather of 3. In respect of Wendell's wishes cremation was held. Gamache, Constant

Passed away at the CHUS Fleurimont on March 31, 2009, at the age of 92 years. Beloved husband of Beatrice Yvonne De Lafontaine. Dear father of the late Gilles Gamache (Germaine Laliberté), Monique (Clément Rouillard), Nicole (Claude Labrie), Claudette (Gerald Hardy) and Suzanne (Jacques Paré). He was the cherished grandfather of Yves, Nathalie, Sylvain, Eric, Judith, Maryse, Stéphane, Caroline and their spouses. Great grandfather of Rosalie, Maude, Charles-Benoit, Sophie, François, Emile, Antoine, Faramir Noah and Justin. Constant leaves to mourn his sister Jeannette (feu Adolfe Boutin). He was the brother-in-law of Gracia ( the late Donat Dubé),the late Emelda (Alfred Campagna), and the late Marie-Ange (the late Aimé Boisvert). He also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Gillam, William


After a courageous battle with cancer, Bill passed away peacefully on March 21, 2009 at the Pallative Care Centre de Santé De La MRC Coaticook in his 66th year. Beloved husband of Margaret Pehlemann and dear father of Juanita (John Patton) , grandfather of Shelby and Emily Patton and son of the late Fred and Irene (Segee) Gillam. He was the brother of of the late Lois (Ralph Patterson), and of Russell (Ruth Hall), Bruce (Patty Stafford), Richard (Shirley McGenty), Diane (Beresford Fletcher), Douglas (Diana Quinn), John (Carol Goodfellow) and Allen and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Beulah United Church, Ayer's Cliff, Quebec on Saturday March 28 , 2009 at 2 PM with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Rev Doreen Moffat officiating. Garneau, Jean-Paul

Passed away peacefully at his residence in Stanstead, on Wednesday, March 4 2009, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice Duquette and cherished husband of Jeanne D’Arc Roy. Loving father of Jean-Guy and the late Diane. Dear brother of the late Antoinette (the late Auguste Ouellette), the late Anna-Marie (the late Jacques Grondin), the late Gérard (Suzanne Pratte), André (Jeannine Doyon), and Thérèse (Raymond Rodrigue). Jean-Paul will also be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law: René (Sonia Beaupre), Richard (Judy Achilles), Léonard Boisvert, Michel (Micheline Lambert), Marthe (John Dewolf), Florent (Lise Boisvert), Jacqueline (Pierre Viens), Daniel (Giséle Daviau); the Duquette family:Irène (Georges Cronin) Thérèse (the late Jos Simonu), and Ervlin; he was predeceased by his sisters –in-law Anna Tétreault, Claudette Boisvert, the late Dorothy Duquette Blouin,as well as his brothers-in-law Henri Blouin and Jos Simonu. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gagnon Wilson, Florence

At the Connaught Rest Home, North Hatley Qc, on Friday Feb 27, 2009 at the age of 88 years. Florence Gagnon, beloved wife of the late Vernon Wilson and beloved mother of Geraldine (Jim), Jeff 'Butch' (Cecile), Bill (Lynne), and Frank (Jane). Florence was the cherished grandmother of, John, Julie, Stacey, Sarah, Jessica, Rebecca, and Jamie. Great grandmother to Austin and Hailey Veilleux, Kurtis and Krista Call, and Mckenzie Stone. She is survived by her brothers and sister; Jimmy, 'Jiggs' (Albert), and Irene, and was predeceased by her sister Maggie.

Gifford, Daniel (1979 - 2009)

Peacefully in his sleep on January 24th, 2009, Danny Gifford, son of Bob and Barbara Gifford, at the age of 29 years. Danny leaves to mourn, his devoted and loving parents, Bob and Barbara, his sister Christine (Michael Schumacher), his brothers Mark (Catherine Dougherty) and Paul (Melany Boucher) also his nieces, Rachel and Lauren Schumacher and Alyssa Gifford. Danny touched the hearts of many - also mourning are his aunts and uncles; Bill and Diane Gifford, Beverly Gifford, Sandra and Richard Beaudoin along with his special cousins; Andrea (Grant Eastwood) and Nelson Gifford, other cousins, relatives and friends. Cremation will take place, followed by the interment at a later date. Thanks to the lady of 911 and to the Paramedics who came to our aid.
