    Beginning August 17th, Centennial Theatre will open sales for individual shows scheduled during the 2009-2010 Season.   • FREE VIDEOCONFERENCE ON PARKINSON’S DISEASE
    Bury, Cowansville, Magog

    This health education session, aimed at people with Parkinson’s, caregivers, volunteers and family members, is designed to increase people’s awareness and understanding about the disease. Issues such as communicating with health care workers, asking the right questions, and managing symptoms will be explored. In addition to the speaker, a representative from the Parkinson Society Quebec will be present to answer your questions about available resources.   • CFUW meeting and presentation of ET Mae Sot Project

    CFUW Sherbrooke & District invites all members to meet on Thurs., Jan. 21 at 7:00 PM at the Faculty Lounge, McGreer Bld., Bishop’s University. The public is invited to meet at 7:45 PM to hear about the Mae Sot Education Project which helps children of Burmese migrant workers and people driven across the border by repression and conflict in Burma/Myanmar. Mary Purkey, Coordinator for the Eastern Townships–Mae Sot Education Project and Elise Bulow, a Champlain grad in Pure and Applied Sciences will discuss this important Eastern Townships project.   • Valérie Milot - Award-winning Harpist
    Centennial Theatre

    A unique concert comes to Centennial Theatre with a performance by harpist Valérie Milot on Saturday, January 30th at 8pm. Described as a “very refined” artist by the critics, the Trois-Rivières native will offer music from her first recording Revelation: Harp Recital as well as Handel’s Concerto for solo harp in B flat major among others. Harpist Valérie Milot is enjoying accolades and garnering countless honours in recognition of her immense talent. In 2009, she was awarded the prize for Découverte de l’année at the Prix Opus, while in 2008 she received the prestigious Prix d’Europe, awarded to a harpist for the first time in 97 years.
