Jones Quinn, Ruby


Passed away peacefully on June 18, 2010 in her 88th year at the palliative care unit CHUS Hotel Dieu after her confrontation with cancer. Beloved wife of Thomas Quinn, whom she married 70 years ago Dec 7,1940. Loving mother of son Gary Quinn(Anelise) former daughter-in-law (Andree), loving mother of daughter Sandra Kinkead (Gordon), dear grandmother of Kimberly (Yvan) Darlene, Claudine (Bob), Christine (Christopher) and Thomas. Dear great-grandmother of Kevin, Vanessa, Quinn, Aidan and Paige. Ruby is survived by her brother Gerald Coates (MaryAnne). She was the sister of the late Beverly Ann Runions. Left to mourn are many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and neighbours. Ruby was a devoted caregiver to her husband Thomas, an adhored model mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Johnston, Robert

Passed away peacefully at the CHUS Fleurimont in Sherbrooke, QC, on September 19, 2009, Mr. Robert Johnston at the age of 92. Loving husband of the late Rheta H. Massey, and dear brother of the late George Johnston (the late Shirley), the late Ruth French (the late Gerald), the late Ernest Johnston (the late Irma), Ivan Johnston (Fran, and the late Gweneth), and the late Miriam Johnston (the late Elton Pike). Robert was predeceased by his brother-in-law Gordon Massey. Robert also leaves to mourn his many nieces, nephews and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at the Wales Home, 506 Rte 243 N, Richmond, on Wednesday October 21st at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at St-James Cemetery, South Durham, on Friday October 23rd at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jones (The Reverend) Maxwell C.M. 1912-2009 Peacefully at the Grace Christian Home(Huntingville) Sherbrooke, QC on Monday, July 27, 2009 in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Bessie (Rowsell) and by his second marriage the late Sylvia (Wormsley - McComb). Dear father of Martin (Greta) and cherished grandfather of Terry (Josée), Karen Carson (Philip Desilets) and several great grandchildren. Resting at the St.George's Anglican Church Lennoxville, QC on Thursday July 30, 2009 from 1 to 2:30 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:30 pm. James, Albert

Suddenly at the CHUS Fleurimont , Sherbrooke Qc., on Tuesday June 23, 2009 at the age of 80 years. Albert James, beloved son of Beatrice Cassidy and Art James,and husband of the late Laurel Westman. Dear father of Richard (Uta) King City, On., Allan (Margaret Clark) Bishopton, Qc., Katherine (Reg Decoteau) Grand Valley On., Marie , Cindy (Malcolm Bennett) Bishopton, Qc., and predeceased by his sons Ronald and Andrew. Albert is the cherished grandfather of Ron Jr., Kenneth and Penny James, Peggy Haliday, Robert and Steven James, Jody, Travis and Jeremy James, Christina, Kyla and Gerry Decoteau and Joey Bennett. He was the great grandfather of 10. He is survived by his brother Arthur (Olga) , his daughter in law Nancy James and his sister in law Norma Westman. Joyce, Gordon

February 24, 1913—May 14, 2009 Gordon was born on the family farm in Brookbury, son of Curtis Joyce and Effie May Cook. He attended schools in Brookbury, East Dudswell and Bishop’s Crossing before graduating from Macdonald College with a teaching diploma. He worked as a game warden for the Compton Fish and Game Club in North River. In 1935 he found employment at the S. N. Bishop Casket Company where he worked for 41 years, rising from fabric gluer to factory manager. He served his community in the municipal council and on the school board. Always a strong supporter of the United Church, he served as an elder and as a steward. For 20 years Gordon owned and maintained the municipal waterworks. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Frances England, brother Lester and sister Florence (Sam Shirley). He is survived by daughters Myrna (Edward Rowsell) and Barbara (Kenneth Goslett) and granddaughters Susan Rowsell, Norene (Scott Robinson), Beth and Kate Goslett. He is great grandfather to Everett and Arden Robinson. A celebration of Dad’s life will be held May 24th at 2 p.m. in the Lennoxville United Church, 6 Church St. Sherbrooke (Lennoxville),QC. Johnston, Shirley (nee Pike)

Died on February 8th, 2009 at the CHSLD Foyer Richmond at the age of 84. Predeceased by her husband George Johnston. Shirley is survived by her children William, Melvin and Pauline and is predeceased by her daughter Margaret. Dear grandmother of Marie, Brenda, Tanya, David and Andrea. Daughter of the late Lisle Pike and the late Eleanor Griffith. Shirley is pre-deceased by her sister Noreen (late Wilbur Wiggins), and brothers Elton (late Miriam), Lorne (late Patricia) and Ralph (Sylvia). Left to mourn are her brothers-in-law Robert Johnston (late Rheta) and Ivan Johnston (Fran and the late Gwen). Also pre-deceased by her sister-in-law Ruth (late Gerald French) and brother-in-law Ernest (late Irma). At Shirley’s request, cremation was held, to be followed by a graveside service in the Melbourne Ridge Cemetery at a later date. Joyal Young, Bernadette

Passed away peacefully at the C.S.S.S. Memphremagog on Monday, June 23, 2008, at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Baxter Young and loving daughter of the late Moise Joyal and the late Albertine Belanger. Cherished mother of Jeffrey Young of Stanstead, Marcia Lang of Hillsboro Oregon, Michael Young (Jane Tilton) of Tilton New Hampshire, Karen (Roy Greenwood), of Gardner Mass., and Sandra (Allan Tweed) of Newport Vermont. Dear grandmother of Jennifer Young, Sean Pare, Joshua, Christopher, Shawn and Chelsea Lang. Bernadette will also be sadly missed by her sisters: Florence Joyal, Valeda Vito, Marie-Jane Holmes, and her brother Louis Joyal, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Albert, Georges, Leon, Andre and Robert. Honoring Bernadettes wishes, there will be no visitation. Passed away peacefully at the CHUS Fleurimont on March 8th, 2008 in his 96th year. A long time resident of Stanstead, QC beloved husband for 73 years of Irene Patterson and cherished father of Hazel (late Kenneth) Markwell, Newport, VT; Robert, Bath, ON ; Sandy (Darlene), Stanstead, QC and Heather (James) Cooper, Calgary, AB. Much loved grandfather of Sheri (Randy) Plumb, Laurie, Lisa and David Johnston all of Kingston, ON; Corey Johnston, Stanstead, QC; Stacey (Richard) Camber, Georgeville, QC and Emily (Louis) Veilleux, Stanstead, QC; Jackie (Warren) Blair and Michael (Wanda) Cooper all of Calgary, AB; as well as his 14 great-grandchildren.
Survived by Helen (late John) Johnston. Pre-deceased by his siblings and their spouses: Jane (James) Hayes, David, Alexander (Edna); Catherine (John) Stuart, James, Annie (Arthur) Henderson, Andrew (Rose), Harry (Opal Packard), William (Irene).
Also survived by in-laws John (late Kathryn) Patterson, Toronto, ON; Elise (James) Moore, Sherbrooke, QC and Stanley Patterson, Ottawa, ON,. Pre-deceased by Harold (late Betty) Patterson, Mabel (late Rudolph) Nelson.

Honored to be stepmother to Candy Zaffis, Dugway, Utah and Thomas Zaffis, Jr. (Pamela), Foster, Quebec.
