Vance Kobelt, Alice

Passed away peacefully at the Connaught Home, North Hatley, on Thursday, June 10th, 2010 at the age of 84 years. Loving wife of 60 years to Charles Kobelt , and dear mother of Keith (Claudette), Donald (Anne), Mary (Mitchell), Joanne (Louis) and Charles (Kelley). Dear Grandma of Alexander, Christopher, Heather, Lillian and Frankie. Vautier Létourneau, Orva

Passed away on Wednesday July 22, 2009 at the Connaught Home, North Hatley. Loving wife of the the late Irvin Létourneau. Orva was born in Shigawake, QC on September 18, 1924. She leaves to mourn her sister Elsie Keenan Packard and also many nieces, nephews and friends. A service will be held at the Connaught Home on Saturday July 25, 2009 at 2 P.M. Interment at Saint-Godefroi Cemetery, Gaspé at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Connaught Home, 77 Main St. North Hatley, QC, J0B 2C0 would be appreciated by the family. van Lierop, Peter

We regret to announce the passing of Peter A. van Lierop. Sr., after ninety-six (96) years of life, on the 26th of February 2009 at the CHUS Fleurimont Hospital surrounded by family. Beloved husband for sixty-one years of the late Catharina van den Hurk. He leaves to mourn his children Francesca, Peter Jr., William (Late Maria), Martin (Barbara) and grandchildren Catherine (Orisbel), Mariannik, Jean-Marc, Johan (Julia), Raphael (Hilary), Michael (Sheila) and great-grandchildren Kassandra, Logan, Emrik, Esme, and Rem as well as relatives in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and the Netherlands. Predeceased by his son Hans and his brothers Rein, Martien and Marinus. Born in Mierlo, the Netherlands, he started in the farm business at an early age. He went to great lengths to save his family from harm during the harrowing times of WW II. In 1945, the family farm and the surroundings were liberated by the Canadian Army which created a special bond between the liberators and his future adopted country. He subsequently immigrated to Canada with his young family in 1951 to seek new business and farming opportunities, starting a dairy operation in Saint-Ignace-de-Stanbridge, then moving to a larger farm in West-Brome and finally settling in Cookshire on a farm that his son Bill continues to operate. He very proudly stayed in his own home until November 2007 before taking up residence at La Sapinière in East-Angus. The family would like to convey a sincere thank-you to the staff of the CHUS Hospital for their kind care. We are particularly grateful to the staff of La Sapiniere, the Cookshire CLSC and the Aide Domestique du Haut-Saint-Francois for bringing such compassionate support in his later years. The funeral ceremony will be held on February 28, 2009 at 2:30 pm. Family will receive condolences prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the Saint-Camille Church in Cookshire. van Geel Kezar, Adriana


Passed away peacefully at the CHUS Hotel Dieu on Friday, May 16, 2008, at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Russell Kezar and cherished mother of Adriana (Raymond DesRuisseaux), Adelaide (Richard Coates), Judy (Keith Barnfield), Russell (Chantal Lemay) and John (Angi Beauchamps). Adoring grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Gerardus Adrianus ¨Gerard¨ van Geel, Adrianus Petrus ¨Piet¨ van Geel and the late Johanna Peternella ¨Jos¨ van Geel Haanraadts. Adriana will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viens, Marcel

Passed away at the C.H.U.S. Fleurimont on Wednesday, March 6, 2008, in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Monique Massé and dear son of the late Rosario Viens and the late Jeanne Routhier. Cherished father of: Johanne (David Garner), Daniel (Carole Dame), Mario, France (Jim Nickel) and Robert; loving grandfather of : Isabelle, Jason and Gabrielle Viens, Matthew and Megan Garner, Geneviève and Pascale Nickel. Marcel will also be sadly missed by his brothers Raymond (Jeannine Vaillancourt ) and Nelson (Jeannine Côté), along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Viens Duperron, Barbara

Suddenly at her residence in Cornwall, Ontario on May 28, 2006 at the age of 48 years. Beloved wife of Yvan Duperron and dear mother of David, Sherbrooke, Quebec and Mark (Carmelle) of Cornwall, Ontario. Dear daughter of Clement Viens and Dawn Cayer of Danville, Quebec. Barbara will be sadly missed by her brothers Daniel (Wanda) and Andy (Angela) and sister Nancy (Bill Holiday) all of Richmond, Quebec. Dear niece of Dayle Cayer, Richmond, Quebec, Danna (Bob Boyer) of Aylmer, Quebec, Sonny Vallieres (Beverly) of Calgary, Alberta and Hudson Vallieres (Patricia) of Wabush, Labrador and Vivian Henderson (Derrill) of Ottawa, Ontario. Proud grandmother of Raedia of Cornwall, Ontario. Nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends will mourn her passing.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Vintinner Sparkes, Bonnie

Peacefully, at the I.U.G.S. Youville Pavillion, after a lengthy battle with M.S., on Monday April 10th, 2006 in her 50th year, Bonnie Susan Vintinner, beloved wife of John Sparkes and dear mother of Krista (Kevin Mackey) and Lori. She is survived by her sister and brother Sharon (Gary Barter) and Randy (Gerri Lasenba). She was the cherished daughter of the late Phil Vintinner and Elsie Gagné. She will be sadly missed by her father and mother-in-law Robert and Marian Sparkes as well as her brothers and sisters-in-law Clifford (Tracy), Donna (Gerry), Bruce (Chantal), Steven (Lyne), Trudy (Scott) and also by her aunts and uncles and many nieces and nephews. Vermette Paetow, Lucienne

Peacefully at the Domaine de la Sapinière, East Angus, QC on Thursday, March 23rd 2006 at the age of 95. Lucienne Vermette Paetow, leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews and friends. At her request, there is no visitation. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the St-Camille Cemetery, Cookshire, QC. Passed away suddenly at the Coaticook Hospital on Monday, September 19th 2005 at the age of 60. Jacques Vaillancourt beloved husband of Patricia Gagnon dear father of JoAnne ( Daniel Landry ), Andre ( Josee Veilleux ), Angela ( Eric Bédard ) and Annie ( Steven Spaulding ); Jacques also leaves to mourn his mother Françoise Labrecque ( the late Charles Vaillancourt ), his parents-in-law: Jean Forret and Jiggs Gagnon; his grandchildren: Kevin, Myriam, Sabrina, Carol Ann, Ethan, Samuel, Carl, Simon, Audrey, Dominic, Samantha and Emily; his brothers, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law: Jacqueline ( Denis Alix ), Denise ( Bruno Picard ), Diane ( Richard Caron ), Guy, Claire ( Pierre Labonté ), Jean ( Diane Robidoux ), Richard ( Louise Lamarche ) and Bob Gagnon ( Debbie ); his step-children: Steve ( Brenda ) and Julie ( Steve ) and their children: Cameron and Taylor also many other relatives and friends. Verhoef ( van Ruintenbeek ), Johanna ( May 8th 1920-September 1st 2005 ) Peacefully at the CHUS in Sherbrooke, surrounded by her loved ones, in her 86th year after a short illness.Johanna is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Gerard, her children Walter ( Dominique Langlois ) of Windsor, Barbara of St-Hubert, Hendrick ( Nancy Dupuis ) of Milgrove,Ont, her seven grandchildren: Jessica, Jeffrey, Jamie, Benjamin, Alexis, Michelle, Katrina. Sister of late Ali, late Anna,late Hendrikus, Marie, Bertha, Margreet, Herman, Mary, Geert, Riet and the late Thomas. Also fondly remembered by her sisters and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the staff of the CHUS for their kind and attentive care, especially Rita and Jocelyn of the intensive care unit.
